Capturing the essence of different animals without realism.
Artists and inspiration: (Alan Fletcher, Pablo Picasso, Chris Spollen, Alberto Giacometti) These artists caught my eye during this week's briefing and during my recap and research in my own time. The abstractness of the art, the use of materials and colour (or lack of colour). These artists saw how much they could distort the shapes and features - or how simple they could make them - before it lost its essence.
Bored Panda There was no artist name but the 6 pieces on this website page I thought really captured the essence of the animals and their habitats without being realistic or covering up the materials used to create them. The artist really thought about the creature and habitats and what they were using to capture this.

Reflecting on the week: I have found this week to be a lot of fun. I have always enjoyed 3D work and creating/ building things from simple things like paper and recycling. capturing the essence of animals and not having to be realistic made it more fun. Looking at the pile of recycling next to me and things just seemed to fit together into various animals. The photography was just as fun as the building, to me the photos didn't look like they needed any editing, they already seemed bright and colourful and cropped enough. Some more zoomed in, different angles, different shadows, natural light sources.
